ILOILO City – Alene Blas Mecenes was jogging in Purok 3, Barangay Idio, Sebaste, Antique when a vehicle sideswiped her.
The 49-year-old resident of Alojado Street at the poblacion in Culasi died, a police report showed.
From what the police have so far gathered, Mecenes and the vehicle were going the opposite directions when the accident transpired at around 5 a.m. on Monday.
The police report further identified Mecenes as a married overseas Filipino worker.
Mecenes was taken to the Sebaste Community Hospital where an attending physician pronounced her dead.
Investigation continues. Police have yet to identify the vehicle involved and its driver as of this writing./PN
