BACOLOD City – Officers from the City Intelligence Unit and the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested the suspected right hand of an alleged drug lord in La Herencia Subdivision, Barangay Mandalagan.
CDEU assistant team leader Inspector Adrian James Albaytar told Aksyon Radyo Bacolod they caught the 36-year-old Elias Cabagutan of Barangay Bata in a sting operation.
Albaytar identified Cabagutan as the right hand of a drug lord – who he refused to name – operating in the city.
Albaytar added that Cabagutan had been under surveillance for almost six months.
Caught with Cabagutan was the 30-year-old Barangay Estefania resident Edwin Vivero, police said.
Cabagutan and Vivero were high value drug targets of the police.
Recovered from Cabagutan and Vivero’s possession were seven sachets of shabu valued at about P300,000 and the P3,000 marked money.
Cabagutan and Vivero were detained at the Police Station 3 custodial facility and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (With a report from Aksyon Radyo Bacolod/Mae Singuay/PN)
