ROXAS City – Joint elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6 and Capiz police’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit arrested a man in a drug buy-bust operation in Sitio Candelaria, Barangay Baybay.
Police identified the man as the 38-year-old Omar Villanueva.
Villanueva was caught after he sold shabu to an undercover officer for P1,000 on Tuesday.
PDEA agents also confiscated from Villanueva a cellular phone.
According to Villanueva, the 29-year-old Leo Belonio, Fatima Laudiño, 21 and a 17-year-old minor delivered him illegal drugs.
Belonio, Laudiño and the minor – who were in Villanueva’s house when the buy-bust was conducted – denied the allegation.
According to them, they were just collecting money that Villanueva owes them that’s why they were there.
PDEA agents released the Belonio, Laudiño and the minor after a series of questioning.
Villanueva, on the other hand, was detained and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
