BACOLOD City – Crossing the road turned fatal for a woman in Sitio Botong, Barangay Lumbangan, Mabinay, Negros Oriental.
She was the 46-year-old resident Nancy Gantalao, a police report showed.
A passenger tricycle hit Gantalao when she crossed the road around 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday, the report further stated.
Gantalao sustained head and body injuries and was rushed to the Mabinay Community Hospital where the attending physician pronounced her “dead on arrival.”
The 43-year-old Jurlie Patrocinio of Bais City, Negros Oriental was driving the tricycle when the accident happened.
Elyn Insong, 30, and Gaudiosa Japin, 60, were Patrocinio’s passengers that time, according to the police.
Patrocinio was detained, police said./PN
