ILOILO City – Neil Alam was accused of violating the Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act.
Police arrested the 38-year-old resident of Sitio Calubihan, Barangay Tangke, Roxas City on Feb. 8.
Specifically, Alam was charged with violation of the law’s Section 5 (e) paragraph 2: “Depriving or threatening to deprive the woman or her children of financial support legally due her or her family, or deliberately providing the woman’s children insufficient financial support.”
Officers served him a warrant of arrest at around 9:15 a.m., a police report showed.
Alam was detained at the Roxas City police station.
The court set the bail bond for his temporary liberty at P24,000./PN
