Cop rearrested for illegal possession of firearm

BACOLOD City — The policeman imprisoned in July was rearrested on Tuesday for illegal possession of firearm.

Police Officer 1 Reylan Berja Dordas , 24, of Barangay Punta Mesa, Manapla town was rearrested for the same offense in his house on Tuesday.

Judge Felipe Banzon of the Regional Trial Court Branch 69 issued his arrest warrant and recommended a bail of P140, 000.

On July 1, Victorias City police seized a sachet of shabu and a homemade .38 caliber with six live ammunitions from Dordas in a KTV bar in Victorias City.

After being found positive for using illegal drugs, Victorias City police charged Dordas with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Only a warrant of arrest for possession of illegal drugs was issued to him in July.

Dordas was detained but later posted a bail of P200, 000.

Superintendent Santiago Rapiz of Victorias police said Dordas is involved in illegal trading of drugs and firearms in Victorias City.

Dordas who entered the police service in 2012 is subject for dismissal from service./PN
