ILOILO City – His drunken friend got jealous and slashed him with a broken whiskey bottle, a resident of Zone 3, Barangay North Baluarte, Molo district told the police.
The 28-year-old John Francisco Sioson sustained wounds and bruises on the right hand and chest, a police report showed.
Sioson identified his friend and attacker as the 34-year-old Ranilo Bajon.
Bajon was arrested and faces a physical injury charge, the police report stated.
Sioson said they were binge drinking when the attack happened at around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 19.
While he and an unidentified girl were talking, Bajon got jealous and challenged him to a fight, Sioson claimed.
Bajon broke an empty bottle of whiskey on Sioson’s right hand and slashed him, said Sioson.
Barangay tanods brought them to the district police station.
Iloilo City Emergency Response team personnel treated Sioson’s wounds, police said./PN
