BACOLOD City – In Barangay Robles, La Castellana, Negros Occidental, a man was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation. Police seized a gun from him, too.

The 25-year-old Alexander Belsa of Barangay Camandag, La Castellana was caught after he sold shabu to a poseur-buyer for P500 around 4 p.m. on Saturday along Feria Street, a police report showed.

Recovered from Belsa’s possession were two more sachets of shabu, a .38-caliber revolver loaded with three live bullets, a Samsung cellphone, and P1,559 cash, police said.

Belsa was taken to the La Castellana Rural Health Unit for medical examination and later detained at the La Castellana police station lockup facility.

He was facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. (With Mae Singuay/PN)
