TRUE to its promise, Iloilo dismantled Capiz 79-49 to take the gold medal in the 2018 WVPRISAA secondary boys basketball yesterday at the Iloilo Sports Complex in Iloilo City.
Mark Nonoy spearheaded the attack with 27 points while Reynold Tupas chipped in 18 for Iloilo, which will now represent Western Visayas in the National PRISAA in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
The Ilonggos jumped to an early double-digit advantage in the opening quarter behind Nonoy, Tupas and Jean Beliran. The lead grew to 20 markers just before the halftime break.
Iloiloâs aggressiveness did not waver in the second half with Nonoy, Beliran and Jesse Sullano contributing on the offensive end to increase the lead further to around 30 points.
âWe are really motivated heading into this game kasi sa Capiz lang kami natalo dito sa tournament,â said Iloilo head coach Vincent Conlu, pertaining to their default loss to Capiz on Sunday.
Also part of the Iloilo team were Jann Paolo Villariza, JJ Gerochi, Victor Demadara, Lee Yanzi Jimena, Carlo Miguel Panguntalan, Cvee Deruta Palileo, Ramon Pico, and Ritchie Galvez.
