BACOLOD City — The Pontevedra Police Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) recommended a psychiatric test on the 14-year-old who claimed she was raped.
The police noted inconsistencies in the girl’s statements.
Nene (not her real name) alleged she was raped by seven men in her aunt’s house in Barangay Miranda, Pontevedra on May 13.
She alleged that her aunt “sold” her to the suspects.
Police Officer 2 Aiza Chua of Pontevedra WCPD is “doubtful” about Nene’s statements.
Nene first said she was raped in Barangay Miranda but when asked again, she said it was in Barangay Balangigay, said Chua.
Nene also said she was in Iloilo in May and only came back here, said Chua.
Senior Inspector Ariel Pico, Pontevedra police chief, told Chua to conduct further investigation.
Nene was turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Pontevedra.
According to the police, Nene, a house help of her aunt, may just be “making up stories.”
Nene and her father was living poorly in Hinigaran town, it was learned. Her aunt took pity on Nene and brought her to Pontevedra to study.
Nene complained to the police last week.
Two days after she was sexually abused, Nene claimed, she boarded a bus bound for Bacolod.
She wandered on the streets for months until a school teacher took pity on her and referred her to Balay Kalinungan, a shelter for abused girls./PN
