ILOILO City – Fifteen municipal police stations and police units in Western Visayas received new patrol cars from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).

The patrol cars were Toyota 4×4 Hilux pickups.

The turnover was held in Camp Delgado, the headquarters of the PRO-6, on March 12.  The recipients were the following:

* Regional Mobile Force Battalion

* Provincial Mobile Force Company of the Guimaras Police Provincial Office

* Aklan Police Provincial Office

* Iloilo Police Provincial Office (specifically the municipal police stations of Bingawan, Lambunao and Miag-ao)

* police stations of Bugasong and Valderrama in Antique

* police stations of Dao and Dumalag in Capiz

* police stations of Sipalay and Ilog in Negros Occidental.

According to Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, regional police director, the distribution of new police patrol cars was part of President Rodrigo Duterte’s program to enhance the capability of the police.

“There is now no more reason for a police station not to quickly respond to incidents,” said Binag.

The PRO-6 could be receiving more soon, he revealed.

The PRO-6 also received from the Philippine National Police 18 9mm SMG Tavor guns, seven night vision goggles, search and rescue equipment, bullet proof vests, 154 investigative kits, and four body cameras  for civil disturbance management./PN
