MANILA â F2 Logistics Cargo Movers recovered from a slow start to beat Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors 18-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-21 in the Philippine Super Liga Grand Prix at the Imus Sports Complex in Cavite.
Venezuelan import Maria Jose Perez led the way with 21 points, including 20 kills, while American Kennedy Bryan and Ilongga Aby Maraño had 13 points apiece for Cargo Movers.
Cargo Movers improved to second place (3-1 win-loss) with the Tuesday night victory while Lady Realtors dropped to fourth (2-3) along with Foton Tornadoes.
âNangangapa pa sila noong first set, medyo nagbabasahan pa sila, kaya medyo pangit ang umpisa namin,â said Cargo Movers assistant coach Noel Orcullo. âPero ang maganda naman doon eh nakabawi sila at nag-respond sila.â
Cargo Movers was at match point 24-19 before Lady Realtors got a semblance of hope on back-to-back errors by Victorinara Galang. Maraño ended the match with a powerful hit.
Ukrainian import Bohdana Anisova made 19 points while Canadian Marisa Field chipped in 14 markers and Filipino-American Mar Jana Phillips had 11 for Lady Realtors.
In the first game, Darlene Ramdin came through with some crucial hits as Generika-Ayala Lifesavers finally barged into the win column following a 25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 22-25, 15-11 victory over Smart Giga Hitters.
Ramdin erupted for 23 kills and three blocks for 26 points while American Symone Hayden chipped in 21 points for Lifesavers, which tallied its first victory in five matches./PN
