SAGAY Sepak Takraw Team A continued its winning ways from the WVRAA after ruling the girls division of the 3rd Sepak Takraw Tournament at the Sagay City National High School in Negros Occidental.

Sagay Sepak Takraw A, mentored by Christopher Uychiat, dominated the field composed of seven other teams. Talisay City and Sagay City Team B took the second and third places, respectively.

The Sagay City-based girls’ team will represent Western Visayas in the upcoming Palarong Pambansa in April in Vigan, Ilocos Sur after its successful regionals stint last month in Iloilo City.

In the 13 Under division, Bata National High School dominated 10 other teams as Estefania Elementary School of Bacolod City settled for first runner-up followed by Escalante City.

Bata Team A and Bata Team B also dominated the 16 Under division with a 1-2 finish as Victorias City settled second runner-up while CIS (Bacolod/Talisay) ruled the 35-Up category followed by Sagay City and Victorias City.

“We are looking forward to a bigger event next year, with more teams from across the province taking the hard court,” said tournament manager Adonis Solano./PN
