ILOILO City – The Regional Maritime Unit 6 (RMU-6) got the highest rating in the recent Performance Governance System (PGS) evaluation, outscoring other units in the country.

RMU-6 regional director, Superintendent John Mitchell Jamili said his unit achieved a 91.2 percent performance rating.

For such achievement, RMU-6 bagged the Silver Eagle award.

“Our aim was just to pass. We are lucky that we got the highest rating. The Silver Eagle is big bonus to our hardships. We are thankful to our men,” said Jamili.

It is not easy to get that award, said Senior Superintendent Danilo Maligalig, PGS chairman.

“You have to be convincing before the panel of judges,” he stressed.

Maligalig, also the deputy director for Administration of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Maritime Group, said the PGS is a management tool that uses a balanced score card to quantify the performance of each police personnel.

It aims to realize the goal of the Maritime police – the PNP Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and Upholding the Rule of Law or PATROL Plan 2030, a road map towards a credible, effective and capable police service, said Maligalig./PN
