ILOILO City – One person died while another was confined in a hospital in separate stabbing incidents over the weekend, police reports showed.
The 18-year-old Bobby Vallejo of Barangay New Buswang, Kalibo, Aklan was attacked in Ati-Atihan Compound in the village.
Officers have identified a suspect – Edward “Lawin” Gregorio – a police report stated.
Gregorio allegedly stabbed Vallejo twice on the left chest after a heated argument at around 8:20 p.m. Saturday, initial investigation showed.
Vallejo was confined in the Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital.
Police launched a manhunt against the suspect, who fled after the incident.
In Barangay Nagba, Cuartero, Capiz, a drinking session at around 12:33 a.m. Sunday led to the stabbing of Resty Arosa of Mambusao town, another police report showed.
Police identified as suspect the man Arosa was having a drink with – Jolito Lauron, 37, of Barangay San Juan, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.
Arosa was taken to a hospital in Dao, Capiz but later died. Lauron had been arrested, the report stated./PN
