BACOLOD City – It was misunderstanding that have triggered a man to stab another in Sitio Dao, Barangay Lemery, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, police said.
The 43-year-old resident Ramel Ulgasan sustained a stab wound on the chest and was rushed to the Calatrava District Hospital where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival,” a police report showed.
Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan, officer-in-charge of the municipal police station, identified the suspect as the 39-year-old Renan Gallos, also a resident of the village.
Gallos and Ulgasan were binge drinking at a vulcanizing shop owned by Stephen Aburido around 11 p.m. on Sunday when an altercation ensued between them.
Police were still locating Gallos, who fled after the incident./PN
