ILOILO City – Police were searching for a suspect in shooting a resident of Barangay Cawayan, Carles, Iloilo.
The 39-year-old Remil Geco fled after the incident, police said, citing witnesses.
Wounded in the shooting in that village at around 8 p.m. on April 1 was the 38-year-old Franklin Bantillo, a police report showed.
Citing initial investigation, police said the men involved in the shooting were drunk.
Bantillo was hit on the right leg. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, the police report stated.
The report identified Geco as a resident of Barangay Dayhagan, Pilar, Capiz.
Responding officers from the Carles police station found at the shooting site a homemade 12-gauge shotgun and a magazine with two live bullets.
