KALIBO, Aklan – The Department of Education (DepEd) Aklan is once again recognizing 10 outstanding elementary and high school teachers.
They will be officially cited during ceremonies on April 17 in this capital town as part of the 62nd Aklan Day.
Making it to the Aklan Ten Outstanding Mentors (ATOM) were:
* Master Teacher I Raffy Paller of Gaudencio Vega National High School (Kalibo District I)
* Master Teacher I Frederick Iguban of Kalibo Pilot Elementary School (Kalibo District I)
* Teacher III Gilvert Dy of Balete Integrated School (District of Balete)
* Master Teacher II Cynthia Tumbokon of Makato Integrated School (District of Makato)
* Master Teacher II Jonna Campo of Altavas National School (District of Altavas)
* Master Teacher I Sherwin Batilantes of Malay National High School (District of Malay)
* Teacher I Jennie Zaragosa of Makato Integrated School (District of Makato)
* Teacher III Dave Richard Santiago of New Washington Elementary School (District of New Washington)
* Teacher I Ma. Teresa Enerio of Ibajay Central School (District of Ibajay West)
* Master Teacher I Ma. Chona Escalona of Bulwang Elementary School (District of Numancia)
The Razon Tumbokon Foundation in collaboration with DepEd-Aklan initiated the ATOM awards in 2014 to recognize exemplary performance in teaching, effective educational leadership and community work of teachers in the province.
This year’s winners were from eight out of 19 school districts in Aklan.
Fifteen qualifiers had undergone interviews and teaching demonstrations from April 2 to 4.
They were then trimmed down to 10 during the Phase II evaluation, according to Senior Education Program Specialist Dr. Leilanie Sindingan. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
