ILOILO City – A 25-year-old man and his girlfriend were attacked in Molo district, a police report showed.
Richard Lusanta of Barangay Bonifacio Tanza, City Proper and Chrisly De La Paz did not know why a group of persons threw stones and empty bottles at them at around 2:30 a.m. on April 9.
They were about to ride their motorcycle and leave their friend’s house in Zone II, Barangay San Juan, Molo at the time, Lusanta told the Molo police.
Suddenly a group of people confronted them.
Lusanta identified two of them as Butch Maloto and Mark Estrivilio, both residents of the same village, the police report stated.
Maloto threw a stone at them while Estrivilio struck him with a hollow block, Lusanta claimed.
As a result, Lusanta was bruised on the head and right arm while his girlfriend was hit on the right eye, stated the police report.
Lusanta said they escaped by driving away but their attackers continued to throw stones and empty bottles at them.
The alleged attackers cannot be reached for comment as of this writing.
