ILOILO City – A collector of a money lending company lost P40,000 cash, a cellular phone and cell cards to three armed men in Barangay Navais, Mandurriao district.
The robbery happened on Monday around 3:30 p.m., said 30-year-old Herbert Salvilla of Barangay Sinikway, Lapuz district.
The robbers were aboard a motorcycle.
They blocked his own motorcycle, Salvilla told the Mandurriao police.
At gunpoint, said Salvilla, the men grabbed his bag containing his collection and phone.
“Before the robbers left, they took the key of the victim’s motorcycle to prevent him from quickly reporting the incident to the police,” said Chief Inspector Lea Rose Peña, commander of the Mandurriao police station.
Peña said they have three suspects.
“We hope to get them sooner,” she said.
Following the robbery, Senior Superintendent Ruperto Floro, city police director, reminded money lending collectors to be more cautious./PN
