BACOLOD City – Inside the municipal jail of Ilog, Negros Occidental was a former policeman charged with murder.
He was the 47-year-old Apolinario Galapin, who was temporarily residing in Barangay Calubang in the town, a police report showed.
Galapin was caught on Monday on the strength of an arrest warrant that Judge Pablo Magdoza of the Regional Trial Court Branch 48 in Tagbilaran City issued on June 25, 2008.
Officers from the Regional Intelligence Unit were able to arrest Galapin – the most wanted person in Bohol – after Bantay Bayan member Glen Panilan gave them a tip-off.
The court did not recommend a bail bond for Galapin’s temporary liberty./PN
