Supreme ABF routs USLS in Negros caging

SUPREME ABF/Silvergraces Construction kicked off its campaign in the Negros Basketball Association 2018 President’s Cup with a 100-80 win over University of St. La Salle/Freeze Sportswear at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School gym.

Cameroonian import Frederick Ngoh Elombi led the way with 31 points for Supreme ABF. Erwilson Santos added 12 while Virgilio Dapar and Ramer Javillo contributed 11 and 10, respectively.

USLS had a strong start in the Tuesday match, with Jude Junto and Rey Jalapa making for an early 22-16 edge. Supreme ABF countered with a run behind Elombi, Santos and Dapar to seize the lead.

Elombi continued to dominate in the second period with inside conversions while USLS struggled against the tight defense of Supreme ABF as the latter surged to a 48-36 halftime edge.

USLS tried to make a run in the third period behind Junto and Jeffrey Abordo but Supreme ABF had a quick answer with inside baskets from Elombi and widened the lead 75-59.

Junto paced Freeze Sportswear with 16 points while Jalapa and Abordo added 12 and 10 points each.

UNO-R Red House Taiwan Shabu-Shabu (not Red Taiwan as earlier reported) topped the standings with 2-0 win-loss. Supreme ABF and ESJ Fyr Fyter/YBAC were on second with 1-0.

CSAV-Silver Dragon had 1-1 while LCC B-Davies Paint-J Squared Construction, Dawn Rent a Car, Melfern, and USLS had 0-1 each. Duke Jay Game Farm had yet to play as of this writing./PN
