Ceneco moves members’ assembly from April to June

BACOLOD City – The Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) rescheduled its members’ assembly following an order from the National Electrification Administration (NEA).

From April 28, Ceneco’s Annual General Membership Assembly (AGMA) was moved to June 30.

NEA administrator Edgardo Masongsong issued Memorandum No. 2018-009 advising all electric cooperatives in the country that they “may defer [the AGMA] should the board of directors in its discretion, find that the conduct thereof may affect or maybe affected by political activities ensuing then.”

NEA issued the memorandum in relation to the conduct of the synchronized Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on May 14.

Conducting the AGMA is in compliance with the electric cooperatives’ by-laws.

Ceneco president Roy Cordova said members of the electric cooperative’s Board of Directors decided to reschedule the AGMA by passing a resolution during their April 10 meeting.

Roel Venus, Ceneco’s Member-Consumers Integrated Services Division head, said the newly elected Board members will also take their oath during the AGMA.

Those who will take oath are Beda Tumbos, newly elected director for Ceneco 2nd District office, Jojit Yap, reelected director for Ceneco 3rd District office, and Dwight Carbon, reelected director for Ceneco 7th District office./PN
