Cigarette salesman held up, loses cash

ILOILO City – An employee of a cigarette production company was held up and robbed in Santa Barbara, Iloilo, a police report showed.

The 51-year-old Jose Joven Paro lost more or less P40,000 cash to the culprit at around 1:51 p.m. on April 13.

Paro, a resident of Barangay Dulonan, Arevalo district, was a salesman of the PMFTC, Inc. whose Iloilo office was on Muelle Loney Street, stated the police report.

He was in Barangay Buyo, Santa Barbara when the motorcycle-riding, helmet-wearing holdup culprit trained a “short firearm” on him and divested him of his cash, stated the police report.

It was not immediately clear why Paro was in Santa Barbara, where in the village he was robbed, and what exactly he was doing at the time of the incident./PN
