Police net 2 ‘drug dealers’

BACOLOD City – Two illegal drug pushing suspects were arrested in separate police operations in this city.

Nineteen sachets of suspected shabu were seized from Warren Mercado and Alejandro Medel, police said.

Police Station 2 officers caught the 23-year-old Mercado on Thursday in Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2.

Ten plastic packs of suspected shabu worth around P10,000 were confiscated from him.

Police Station 2 under Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias called Mercado a “newly identified drug personality” who replaced big-time drug dealers in the area already arrested.

Mercado was detained at Police Station 2.

On the same day Police Station 8 officers caught the 21-year-old Medel in Purok Kaingin, Barangay Singcang-Airport where he lived.

Nine sachets of suspected shabu worth around P18,000 were seized from the suspect, said the station head Chief Inspector Ruel Culanag.

Police Station 8 took Medel in custody.

Both suspects were facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
