DepEd-Aklan has new chief

Dr. Salvador Ochavo Jr.

KALIBO, Aklan – The Department of Education (DepEd) in Aklan has a new schools division superintendent – Dr. Salvador Ochavo Jr.

Ochavo assumed the post after Dr. Ernesto Servillon Jr. was assigned at DepEd Division Office in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

Servillon replaced the suspended DepEd-Aklan chief Dr. Jessie Gomez on May 17, 2017.

The 54-year-old Ochavo, a resident of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental was previously assigned at Escalante City, Negros Occidental DepEd Division Office.

On March 12, he took oath as a full-fledged schools division superintendent in Iloilo City.

Ochavo was installed as the new DepEd-Aklan chief during a Division Executive Committee meeting on April 12.

He was also assigned as the assistant schools division superintendent in Kabankalan City DepEd Division Office.

Ochavo, being the DepEd-Aklan chief, will supervise school districts of Banga, Balete, Numancia, Libacao, Batan, New Washington, Altavas, Makato, Madalag, Malay, Nabas, Lezo, Tangalan, Ibajay West, Kalibo I, Buruanga, Kalibo II, Malinao, and Ibajay East. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
