Man nabbed for defying election gun ban

BACOLOD City – He discharged his firearm while the election gun ban is in effect.

The 27-year-old Jonar Salibio of Barangay Bulata, Cauayan , Negros Occidental was arrested in his house around 1:30 p.m. on Monday, a police report showed.

Officers from the Cauayan municipal police station went to the village after receiving information that Salibio fired his gun that day.

Recovered from Salibio’s possession were an improvised shotgun, a .38-caliber revolver and ammunition, police said.

Salibio was detained at the municipal police station lockup facility and facing charges for violation of the election gun ban and Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
