BACOLOD City – He tried to fire at one of the arresting officers that is why he was shot, according to the police.
The 24-year-old robbery suspect Jibbert Villanueva of Purok Lubi, Barangay 3 sustained gunshot wounds on the chest and neck, a police report showed.
Villanueva – the No. 1 and No. 3 most wanted person of Police Stations 4 and 2, respectively – was rushed to a hospital in the city but he was pronounced “dead on arrival.”
It was around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday when Police Officer 2 Vicente Pabuaya Jr. of Police Station 4 saw Villanueva along Lopez Jaena Street.
Pabuaya then alerted other police officers while chasing Villanueva, who ran and hid in a companion’s house along Malaspina Street in Barangay Villamonte.
