BACOLOD City – A construction worker was electrocuted after an electric post fell in Barangay Ma-ao, Bago City on Saturday night.
Police were still trying to determine as of this writing who could be held responsible for the death of the 51-year-old resident Roger Campos Sr.
At the time, around 7:30 p.m., Campos and son Roger Jr., a fellow construction worker at Silver Dragon in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, were bound for home on board a vehicle.
Central Negros Electric Cooperative wires got tangled with passing cargo trucks, causing one post to fall, investigation showed.
The incident caused their vehicle to stop. Campos decided to disembark and walk, with their house now just a few meters away, his son Roger Jr. told the police.
But Campos accidentally touched one of the live wires, causing his electrocution and eventual death. He sustained third-degree burns on the body, police said./PN
