SAN JOSE, Antique – Gov. Rhodora Cadiao on Friday conducted an inspection at the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital following complaints about its sanitary condition.
Cadiao said she wanted to see it for herself.
She talked to several patients during the inspection to get their feedback.
“I am a little bit disappointed with what I saw in the hospital,” she said after the inspection.
Cadiao said she already instructed the hospital staff, particularly the janitors, to provide patients with a clean surrounding.
The governor also instructed Elias Matillano, hospital dormitory manager, to provide work assignments to the janitors.
She also dismissed Matillano’s alibi that they lack supplies such as broom and bleaching agents.
Cadiao told Dr. Samuel T. Ton-ogan, provincial health officer I and the acting chief of the hospital, to vacate the current space where he holds office so it could be converted into a pharmacy. (With PNA/PN)
