ROXAS City – Four policemen were hurt after they figured in a vehicular accident on Arnaldo Boulevard in this capital city.
They were Police Officer 1 (PO1) Arnel Gonzales, PO1 Eleazar Sablayan, PO1 Genesis Sioting, and PO1 Seleno Londres.
Gonzales was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer car with the three other police officers on board when they crashed against passenger van at around 2 a.m. on Tuesday – a day after the synchronized barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
They were on their way to Barangay Baybay at the time.
The police officers – who served as augmentation forces assigned to secure the polls – were rushed to a hospital in Roxas for treatment.
The van driver, identified as Jonard Villareal, was drunk, according to investigators./PN
