ILOILO City – A Manila businessman has been charged with an illegal drug case in Aklan province.
The 42-year-old Eneki Araneta was arrested on Wednesday in Kamagong Street, San Antonio Village, Makati City.
Judge Marieta Homena-Valencia of the Regional Trial Court Branch 1 in Kalibo, Aklan issued the warrant against Araneta, who was accused of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Araneta owns Trigo Bakeshop in the same Makati village, a police report showed.
Police said they have been searching for the suspect for seven years already.
Officers served him with a warrant of arrest at 5:30 p.m.
Judge Valencia set the bail bond for the suspect’s temporary liberty at P200,000.
From Makati, Araneta will soon be transferred to Kalibo./PN
