Labor deployment to Kuwait
BY MARGARET ANJELIE P. LLORICO, Intern

Should the Philippines stop deploying workers to Kuwait?
I disagree with the ban on the deployment of Filipino workers to Kuwait. I think what our OFWs need are better regulations, protection and benefits from both the Philippine and Kuwaiti governments. That way, the two will have a win-win situation.” – RENZ KATIPUNAN, 22, Aeronautics student
Yes, there should be a ban because we need safety. We all know that many Filipino workers are maltreated there. – ROY CORPUZ, 23, call center agent
Yes. Having our fellow Filipinos working and living in that place has no positive feedback at all. We hear the loud voices of our fellowmen asking for help from the government so they could go home. The cries of Filipinos in Kuwait signify their difficulties and mistreatment. I totally agree to ban Filipinos going to that place. – CRISTINA SASUBE, 26, teacher
I agree with the ban. President Duterte is doing his responsibility for the people of the Philippines. Kaluoy sang mga OFWs nga gaubra sa gwa. – SEAN SAQUILON, 22, calligrapher
Based on reports about abuses and deaths of OFWs in Kuwait, I think there should be a ban. Maybe not all OFWs in Kuwait are abused but a ban is for the common good. It could not just save a life, it could save a family. – JERICHO ISAIAH TAGNONG, 18, student
Dengvaxia
BY APRIL GRACE R. PADILLA, INTERN
West Visayas State University – College of Communication
Will you allow your children to get vaccinated with Dengvaxia?
Yes, I will allow it so that the children will get immunized from dengue. — JOSEPHINE DEFENSOR, 60, housewife
It was supposedly okay at first. But when many cases of death ascended in Manila, and cases of the swelling of children’s internal organs, I am now afraid to take the risk. – RUBY L. MAXILOM, 34, resident of Barangay Capuling, Dueñas, Iloilo
Definitely not. I have heard a lot of death cases from the news. I am already aware of its risks and effects. – SHANA MAE D. LAMIQUE, 26, Barangay Nutrition Scholar
Yes. For me it is okay but not necessarily now. There is no thorough and in-depth research yet about Dengvaxia proving it is safe. We should first consider the safety of our children. There should be a much deeper research. – MARY GRACE C. ARNAEZ, 48, resident of Barangay Poblacion D, Dueñas, Iloilo
I wouldn’t like my children to get vaccinated. Many have already lost their lives because of it. — MARY GRACE ASUNG, 40, housewife
Naturally no. Allowing it will put my child in danger or worse, results to his to death. – AILEEN L. TIRADO, 24, resident of Barangay Poblacion B, Dueñas, Iloilo
Dengvaxia has many negative and unlikely effects to children vaccinated with it. Many have died. I will not permit my children to be vaccinated. — MELANIE ALABE ILAGAN, 37, resident of Barangay Poblacion C, Dueñas, Iloilo
