ILOILO City – Six more standard two-storey municipal police stations have been completed in Western Visayas.
These would be inaugurated before this month ends, according to Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).
The police stations are in Buruanga, Tangalan and Batan in the province of Aklan, Dumangas and Zarraga in Iloilo and Libertad in Antique.
“With standard and new police stations, there is no reason for the police forces in these areas not to perform well,” said Binag.
The construction of standard police stations is in line with the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) modernization program.
The six new police stations were built at a combined cost of P27,893,831.40.
“We continue to upgrade law enforcement capabilities, improve the morale and welfare of PNP personnel, and improve our quality of service,” said Binag.
In Iloilo, the following towns already have standard police stations: Pototan, Tigbauan, San Miguel, Oton, Ajuy, Badiangan, Barotac Nuevo, Bingawan, Calinog, Concepcion, Igbaras, Janiuay, Lambunao, Leganes, Mina, New Lucena, Pavia, Santa Barbara, Tubungan, and Dueñas./PN
