ILOILO City – A wounded 37-year-old man reported to Police Station 1 that he had been robbed.

Three men mauled him and trained a knife on him before taking his black Vivo cellphone worth P6,000 on Ledesma Street, City Proper near Ong Bun Pension House, Allan Sumagaysay claimed.

Sumagaysay, a resident of Barangay Democracia, Jaro district, was unable to identify his attackers. The incident happened at around 1 a.m. on May 18, a police report showed.

Iloilo City Emergency Response team personnel treated his wounds on the face and mouth and referred him to West Visayas State University Medical Center in Jaro for further treatment.

Police continued to investigate as of press time.

Investigators found two witnesses – a taxi driver and a security guard – who said only two people, not three, attacked Sumagaysay./PN
