BACOLOD City – Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia inducted the first batch of Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R).
SK officials from barangays 1, 2, 3, 4, ,5 ,6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30 attended the mass oath-taking ceremony on Tuesday.
They were also the first batch to attend the one-day SK mandatory training in compliance with the SK Reform Act of 2015.
Yesterday, Leonardia inducted the second batch of training attendees, composed of SK officials from barangays 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, Alangilan, Alijis, Banago, Bata, Cabug, Estefania, Felisa, Granada, Handumanan, Mandalagan, Mansilingan, Montevista, Pahanocoy, Punta Taytay, Singcang-Airport, Sum-ag, Taculing, Tangub, Villamonte, and Vista Alegre.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government has partnered with the National Youth Commission, Local Youth Development Office, and UNO-R for the conduct of the SK training.
The training will cover topics such as governance and decentralization, the SK history, holding meetings and making resolutions, planning and budgeting, and the code of conduct and ethical standards for public officials./PN
