ROXAS City – A man was believed to have committed suicide in Sitio Tungatong, Barangay Caidquid, Mambusao, Capiz, police said.
He was the 44-year-old resident Noriel Vaay, a police report showed.
According to initial investigation that officers from the municipal police station conducted, Vaay’s wife – who was not identified – found him hanging inside their house with a rope tied around his neck on Thursday.
Vaay was then brought to the Mambusao District Hospital where the attending physician pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
Investigators said Vaay and his wife had quarreled prior to the incident. Investigation was still ongoing as of this writing.
If proven suicide, Vaay’s case will be the third suicide incident in Capiz this week.
The first one happened on Monday – an Israeli man was dead hanging with a rope tied around his neck inside his house at the Andrada Subdivision in Barangay Banica, Roxas City.
He was identified as the 58-year-old Giora Akavia, who had cancer, his wife told the police.
The second case was that of a man in Barangay Tinigban, Panitan town on Thursday. He also killed himself through hanging, said the police./PN
