ROXAS City – The motorcycle he was driving crashed against a speeding truck on Rizal Street in Barangay Poblacion, Pontevedra, Capiz.
Meliton Alcantara of Carles, Iloilo fell off the motorcycle and hit his head on the concrete road, a police report showed.
He was rushed to the hospital but the attending physician pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
Police identified the truck driver as the 65-year-old Leonardo Bacanto, who was detained at the Pontevedra municipal police station lockup facility and facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
