Construction worker ‘steals’ from Molo mall

ILOILO City – A construction worker was accused of stealing from a hardware store in a mall in Molo district, a police report showed.

A merchandiser of Handyman arrested the 27-year-old Edwin Cartajena and brought him to the Molo police station.

Cartajena, a resident of Barrio Obrero, Lapuz, took a Homelite-brand angle grinder, tucked it in his waist and left the store without paying for it, the merchandiser Nestor Barrido Jr. told the police.

Barrido said he caught Cartajena at their store in GT Plaza Mall in Barangay Poblacion, Molo at around 3:04 p.m. on May 27.

Concerned citizens went after Cartajena and seized from him the item worth P2,535, the police report stated.

Cartajena was detained in the custodial facility of the Molo police station. (Christine Lorraine Gallo, Intern/PN)
