MANILA – Stars of Ceres Negros and Kaya Iloilo topped the individual scoring midway in the elimination round of the 2018 Philippines Football League.
Ceres’ Bienvenido Marañon and Kaya’s Jordan Mintah occupied the first two positions with seven goals each.
Spanish striker Marañon made the conversions in just eight games while the Ghanaian Mintah did them in nine.
Ilonggo Jan Jesus Melliza of Stallion Laguna and brothers Phil and James Younghusband of Davao Aguilas all came in on third place with six conversions apiece.
Robert Lopez Mendy of Kaya, Carlo Polli of Stallion, Keigo Moriyasu of JPV Marikina, and Darryl Roberts of Global Cebu finished on sixth to ninth place with four hits each.
Ceres’ newcomer Mike Ott, Kaya’s Alfredo Osei and JPV’s Ryuki Kozawa all tied on 10th place, each having three conversions.
Meanwhile Ceres goalkeeper Toni Doblas registered four clean sheets, or keeping the opponent scoreless for a full game. Aguilas’ Nicholas O’Donnell ranked second with two.
Finishing with one clean sheet each were Kaya’s Ref Cuaresma and Nathaniel Ace Villanueva, and Stallion’s Hayeson Pepito./PN
