BACOLOD City – The restrooms at the Bacolod City Government Center must be repaired now that it is a “regular tourism destination.”
The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed a resolution last week requesting the Office of the Building Official, the City Administrator’s Office and the City Engineer’s Office to facilitate the repairs that need to be done in the restrooms.
Aside from fixing the ceilings and roofs, water proofing is also needed at city hall’s restrooms, the SP added.
The Bacolod City Government Center is popularly known among locals as the New Government Center or the NGC.
The NGC is now part of the city promotional tour after the Department of Tourism recommended it as one of the “must-experience” sites in Bacolod.
Resolution proponent Councilor Sonya Verdeflor reiterated that Negros Occidental – including its capital Bacolod – is the second most visited destination in Western Visayas, next to Aklan where the world-famous Boracay Island is located.
For such reason, tourism stakeholders in Negros Occidental treated Boracay’s closure as “good news” for the province.
As Bacolod welcomes the influx of tourists, it must also make sure that the restrooms at the NGC are presentable, Verdeflor stressed./PN
