SAN JOSE, Antique – The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Region 6 needs to hire 100 Fire Officers 1 (FO1s).

The national headquarters allocated this recruitment quota for the Western Visayas office this year, said Regional Director Senior Superintendent Alan Aladano.

Aladano invited qualified applicants to “apply to their nearest fire station.”

Applicants must have civil service eligibility (professional level) or a Professional Regulation Commission license.

They must not be more than 30 years old – preferably between 22 to 29 years old – and must be at least 5 feet, 4 inches tall for males and 5 feet, 2 inches for females.

Currently the BFP Region 6 has 1,658 personnel.

The salary of fire officers is almost the same with that of police officers under the Philippines National Police and jail officers under the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, said Aladano.

Aladano was in this capital town on May 23 for a BFP Region 6 command conference.

Municipal fire stations in the province reported their accomplishments from 2016 up to the first quarter of 2018. (With Carlson Alelis, PIA/PN)
