ILOILO City – A resident of Capiz province reported to the Jaro district police that a gay man fled with her bags.
Maricel Dumulong, 32, of Barangay Piña, Maayon town said her bags contained cash, identification cards and vital documents.
Dumulong claimed that a 40-year-old gay man who introduced himself as Jaro resident “Donnie Christian Lazorte” befriended her while she was at Robinsons Place mall in City Proper at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
She said the man showed him a voter’s identification card to prove his identity.
At around 10:30 a.m. the man asked her to accompany him at SM Delgado mall, where they were supposed to shop for clothes, said Dumulong.
Dumulong said the man asked her to fit a pair of pants in the fitting room and offered to hold her sling bag and brown shoulder bag.
Among the contents of her bags were her voter’s ID, National Bureau of Investigation clearance, birth certificate, Department of Foreign Affairs form, and P1,800 cash.
The NBI clearance and DFA form of her friend Alma Diongco where in the bags as well, she said.
Upon leaving the fitting room, Dumulong was shocked to see “Lazorte” running away with her bags, a police report showed.
Investigators were still trying to determine the whereabouts of the culprit and if “Donnie Christian Lazorte” was a real person. (April Grace R. Padilla, Intern/PN)
