PAREF-Westbridge Iloilo’s U-14 team dominated the 2018 Allianz Futsal Invitational Cup after defeating University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos 2-1 in the championship game in Negros Occidental.
Team captain Patrique Wraynier Pama and Jacob Barrieses Ledesma scored the goals in the May 26 match, paving the way for the Ilonggo squad to sweep all of its matches in the two-day tournament.
For ruling the Negros games, PAREF-Westbridge earned the right to represent Western Visayas in the National Youth Futsal Invitational Cup to be held in Santa Rosa, Laguna.
“It was a total team effort for us. The players gave their all despite facing tough opponents,” said head coach Bitoy Dean. “We will do our best as we represent the region in the National Youth event in Laguna.”
Prior to reaching the finals, PAREF-Westbridge scored victories over Central Philippine University (4-1), University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos (3-0), Trinity Christian School (1-0), and Don Bosco Cebu (2-1).
Other members of the Ilonggo squad were Kirk Ryan Sumbang, Justin Emmanuel Bautista, Jetchmore Kiev Erecre, Ignatius Amular, Javier Prudente, Mikhael Gedorio, Rallie Anthony Maghari, Romald Bayting, Kurt Kevin Sollorin, and Chrissen Mirador./PN
