No ‘drug-cleared’ villages in Capiz yet, clarifies PDEA

ROXAS City – No barangays in Capiz have been declared “drug-cleared” yet, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6.

PDEA regional director Wardley Getalla said this, adding that the Regional Oversight Committee is still “deliberating and validating” if Capiz villages were cleared of drugs.

Getalla’s statement came after some local chief executives said some villages in Capiz were already drug-cleared.

The deliberation will need at least one month or more, added Getalla.

He said the Regional Oversight Committee – composed of PDEA, Department of Health, Philippine National Police, and Department of Interior and Local Government – will see if the villages satisfied the set standards for the declaration./PN
