SAN JOSE, Antique – Locals have found a dead man floating under a bridge in Barangay Poblacion 2, Hamtic, Antique.
Police identified the man as the 48-year-old Severino Samillano of Barangay Ingwan-Batangan, Hamtic.
Samillano’s body was found on Saturday, two days after he left their house and went missing, according to his relatives.
Police Officer 3 Oliver Villanueva, the investigator of the case, said Samillano was an alcoholic.
He added that Samillano may have been drunk while crossing the river on his way home, fell and was washed away by the strong current, which resulted to drowning.
