Animal serial killer in La Castellana

BACOLOD City – Police were still determining the motive in an animal killing spree in Hacienda Najalin, Barangay Robles, La Castellana, Negros Occidental.

Police Office 2 Andronico Tribaco, the case investigator, said the successive animal killings in the village were reported to them on Wednesday.

The slain animals include six cattle, a carabao and a hog, resident Evelyn Balajang said. They were owned by residents Pit Estoya, Rodel Roberto, Dodong Fernandez, Luzinda Gonzales, and Ernesto Libres.

As of this writing, the police and barangay officials were still clueless who is behind the killings.

Tribaco said they are looking into “pang-tripping” as a motive. He added that the culprit may be “jealous” of the owners of the animals, who are related to each other.

The suspect kills the animals in a way like that in a slaughterhouse, Tribaco said. “They cover the mouth then slash the neck of the animals,” he furthered.

Barangay Robles village chief Joefred Zapanta said he already advised his constituents to be vigilant to identify the suspect./PN
