HERCOR College Junior Jaguars and St. Robert’s International Academy Panda Rockets stayed perfect in the Bingawan Foundation Cup Season 2 High School Basketball Premier Tournament at the Bingawan National High School Gym.
Junior Jaguars, the NBTC regional champion, survived a tough challenge from University of San Agustin Golden Eagles on Saturday before scoring 75-72. Raffy Arguelles led Junior Jaguars with 25 points.
Golden Eagles, on the other hand, managed to bounce back in the nightcap when it defeated Assumption School-Passi City 82-67. Joshua Emanuel Sanchez posted 19 points to lead San Agustin.
Meanwhile Panda Rockets continued its strong performance in the tournament after stunning SMART Breakdown National first runner-up CenterPhil Montessori Silver Knights 91-78.
Roy Oscar Jacinto anchored the offense for Panda Rockets with season-high 39 points built around 13 3-point conversions.
Junior Jaguars is still on top of Bracket A standings with a 2-0 win-loss card, followed by Golden Eagles (1-1), defending champion Santa Clarita International High School Primes (0-1), and Assumption (0-1).
Panda Rockets (3-0) leads Bracket B, followed by Hua Siong College of lloilo Red Phoenix (2-0), Silver Knights (1-1), Ateneo de Iloilo Blue Dragons (1-3), and Bingawan National High School (0-3).
