BACOLOD City – Who killed a 26-year-old resident of Barangay Dian-ay, Escalante City and why?
The death of Cris Canon Palotes was still under investigation, said Chief Inspector Rollie Pondevilla, Escalante City police head.
An unidentified person shot Palotes at around 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Palotes sustained gunshot wounds on the cheek and left side of the neck.
He was rushed to the Alfredo Marañon Sr. District Hospital in Barangay Bato, Sagay City where he was pronounced “dead on arrival.”
The suspect escaped, police said.
Asked by the press what motive they were looking into, the case investigator and a desk officer refused to answer, saying they were unauthorized to disclose further details./PN
