ROXAS City – Safe drinking water will be available for residents of Tapaz, Capiz by December.
Mayor Roberto Palomar and Ocean Eagle Energy Philippines, Inc. president Gerald Cabrera signed last month a P450-million contract for the establishment of a Water Treatment Plant and Reticulation/Distribution System in the town.
“Having a safe drinking water has already been a long problem of Tapaz and we are very happy for this project that has no capital expenditure on the part of the municipality of Tapaz,’’ Palomar said, thanking the project’s investor.
The project was made possible through public-private partnership scheme, aimed at uplifting the living condition in the area.
The project will be implemented by phase. The first phase is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Cabrera said they specialize in building small municipal water treatment plants.
The treatment plant in Tapaz will provide potable water to the residents living in the lowland and upland areas of the town, he added.
Cabrera assured that the plant will produce safe water following the Philippine national standard. (With a report from PIA/PN)
